Prices for LPG, CNG, and PNG across India on April 10 reflect a mixed picture, with domestic rates holding steady in some categories while others edge higher amid global energy dynamics. In Delhi, the price of a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remained at Rs 913, while the 19-kg commercial cylinder rose to Rs 2,078.50. Across major cities, the 14.2-kg domestic cylinder stood at Rs 913 in Delhi, Rs 939 in Kolkata, Rs 912.50 in Mumbai, Rs 928.50 in Chennai, Rs 915.50 in Bengaluru, and Rs 965 in Hyderabad. For the larger 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder, Delhi is at Rs 2,078.50, Kolkata Rs 2,208, Mumbai Rs 2,031, Chennai Rs 2,246.50, Bengaluru Rs 2,161, and Hyderabad Rs 2,320.
CNG prices per kilogram also vary by city: Delhi Rs 77.09, Kolkata Rs 93.50, Mumbai Rs 80.50, Chennai Rs 91.50, Bengaluru Rs 88.95, and Hyderabad Rs 97.
PNG prices per standard cubic meter follow a similar pattern, with Delhi at Rs 47.89, Kolkata Rs 50, Mumbai Rs 50, Chennai Rs 50, Bengaluru Rs 52, and Hyderabad Rs 51.
Oil marketing companies are currently reporting an under-recovery of Rs 380 per cylinder as they maintain subsidised domestic LPG prices. Despite this, India’s domestic LPG rates remain among the lowest globally. The latest supply update comes as the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority announced the arrival of an India-flagged vessel carrying 15,400 tonnes of LPG, underscoring ongoing efforts to bolster LPG inflows amid regional tensions in West Asia.
Market watchers say the price mosaic reflects both domestic subsidy policy and international price pressures, with families feeling the impact in kitchen budgets even as certain segments show relief in other fuel categories.
