Being a car crazy I was really looking forward for this film. The NASCAR (National Stock Car Championship) theme with a good hero our very own Saif (recently acclaimed for Langada Tyagi in Omkara)... was enough for me to buy the deal. But I was so damn disappointed with the script.. story line none of it was practical, Rani though a good actress.. has again been poorly characterized just like she was in KANK. I'ev started hating her for this. Its again big thumbs down for Yash Raj productions.
They should realize that Indian viewer are not dumb to go and sit for anything in the multiplex just because it new product and has a good packaging. High purchasing power does not mean anything under the name of good banner would sell. I felt this movie was did not have a soul and I was right when I was saw "Talladega Night: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby".
Comedy doesn't get better than this. This is Will Farrel (Ricky Bobby the nasty-ass speedster) at his best... one of the most hilarious movies I have ever seen. Now some people are definitely going say I am acting too firang praising the Hollywood flick and picking apart TaRaRumPum...but I am just speaking my heart out. Talladega Nights is the original source for TaRaRumPum.A beautifully crafted comedy touching American Social Issues like over pampering kids, junk food, respecting elders, sex, homosexualism, pride etc. Talladega Nights takes inaccurate aim at all stereotypes, remaking them as commercial products. This movies is full of stupidity and imbecility yet very entertaining in its own way.. If you have watched The Simpsons (The longest TV series ever) and have been loving that kind of comedy and foolishness ..then this is sure to entertain you. I and my cousins are such fans of Ricky Bobby that we'ev been postfixing our first names with Booby.
I'm not sure whether a serious mind would appreciate this movies.. but if you have an iota of the crazy kid left in you .. you'll love it. Some the one liners which i would like to quote "Help me God! Help me Jewish god! Help me Allah! Help me Tom Cruise!". The films joke-making concept too cool and there are no excuses, no escaping Ricky Bobby. Better get some laughing exercise fast..
