Click on the generate metadata tool to get title suggestion and more, and automate SEO. Each article is saved with version history, so you never lose your work.

Generate rich, comphrehensive article insights to see readability score, vibe (mood, intent, etc.), sentiment and bias analysis, skimmability and title strength, AI-content detection, and whether the article is Google-indexable, and will appear on Thoxt homepage. Also discover article stats to see weekly views, who's viewing your articles, comments, scroll depth, time spent and more.

Article Metadata Explained

Thoxt editor automates the boring tasks for writers. One author-favorite is the Metadata generation tool. In the editor settings, you'll see Article Metadata panel. Open it to click 'AI Generate'. This auto-generates the metadata to help you improve or automate your article's metadata. You can use these as is or edit them.

Metadata helps your article get discovered by the right audience. It powers recommendations, SEO visibility, and genre-based discovery across Thoxt. Here's what each field means and how it's used:

Title Suggestion: A catchy, optimized headline suggestion based on your article content. You can click "Insert" to replace your current title.
Meta Description: A short summary that shows up on top of the article. It also shows up on some social media shares and on search engines. Click "Insert" to add it as your article's description.
Hashtags: Suggested tags based on your article. Click "Insert" to add them to the end of your article — these help with discoverability and recommendations.
Genre(s): Choose up to 3 relevant genres. Your article will appear on those genre pages for interested readers to find easily. You can create your own genres. While selecting or creating genres, it shows you existing genres and how many articles each has.
SEO Keywords: These are important words and phrases your article ranks for. Use them naturally in your content to help it appear in relevant searches.

After making changes, click Save to apply the updated metadata to your article.

Understanding Article Insights

Thoxt is not just a social media or blogging platform, it's also an upskilling tool. Thoxt's Article Insights help authors understand and improve their writing using AI-powered analysis. Insights are designed to mimic an editor's feedback so that writers can understand how readers and recommendation engines perceive their work, and over time, improve it. These insights are updated every time you re-analyze content, so you can improve your article before publishing it to maximize reach and engagement. Here's a breakdown of what each section means:

Readability Score:

Based on the Coleman-Liau index. It measures how easy your article is to read, and which grade-level is it appropriate for. A score of 8 means 8th-grade level; general news is usually around 10, and op-eds around 14.

Tip: Use shorter sentences and simpler words for broader readability.

Type & Vibe:

Type: The structure of your article — e.g. News, Opinion, Recipe, etc.
Tone: The writing style — e.g. Snarky, Poetic, Academic.
Perspective: Who the voice sounds like — Journalist, Fan, Victim, etc.
Mood: How the article makes the reader feel — Reflective, Uplifting, etc.
Intent: Why the article was written — to Explain, Report, Vent, Recommend, etc.

Engagement Potential:

Measures how likely your article is to connect with readers. Factors include use of multimedia, conversational phrases, emotional language, and calls to action.

AI Content Detection:

Estimates whether your article appears to be written by AI. Considers sentence patterns, emotional content, and repetitive generic phrases.

Common Words & Phrases:

Shows which words appear most often. These can help you identify natural keywords that improve SEO. You can also avoid over-repetition so your writing sounds better.

Passive Voice:

Identifies if your writing uses passive constructions, which can make content less engaging and more difficult to read.

Sentiment Analysis:

Detects the emotional tone of your content — Positive, Negative, or Neutral.

Bias Detection:

Analyzes your word choices to detect bias. High bias may affect credibility or monetizability.

Skimmability:

Evaluates how easy your article is to scan. Suggestions include adding bullet points, captions, research, or links for better formatting.

Title Strength:

Checks your title for SEO effectiveness, emotional appeal, character count, and clarity.

Discoverability:

Analyzes how easily your article can be found — both on Thoxt and on search engines. Flags risky keywords, NSFW/NSFM content, 'bad words', or anything that might limit visibility.

Spam Detection:

Flags any words or patterns that might seem spammy, promotional, or repetitive.
