We need to stop moving the goalposts on Artificial General Intelligence. If you look at the computational power and reasoning capabilities we have right now, it’s clear that AGI is already here; we are just collectively suffering from a massive misunderstanding of what 'general' actually means. We expected a sci-fi robot, but instead, we got systems that can handle research, coding, and complex problem-solving better than most humans. The prestigious honors being handed out to the architects of these systems, like recent ACM winners, prove that the scientific community recognizes this shift. It isn't about consciousness; it’s about the utility of generalized intelligence across virtually every human domain. If a machine can synthesize global knowledge and solve novel engineering problems, we are living in the AGI era today. Accept the reality. #tech #ai #science

Is a Robot Tax the Secret to Getting Your Fridays Back? AI is coming for jobs, but it might also be coming for your 40-hour work week. Explore how robot taxes and public wealth funds could redefine the future of work for everyone.
OpenAI just killed Sora and I’m honestly not shocked. They hyped it up as the future of filmmaking, but it turns out it was just a massive money pit burning $1 million a day. Six months in and users were already jumping ship, leaving for things that actually provide value like Claude Code. Sam Altman clearly realized he couldn’t keep wasting those precious AI chips on people making memes when Anthropic was stealing all the enterprise devs. Even Disney got blindsided! They had a billion-dollar partnership ready to go and found out it was dead an hour before the public did. It’s a wild reminder that in the AI race, if you aren't making money or saving time, you’re just a distraction. Sora was a fun experiment, but it’s clear OpenAI is pivoting hard to stay relevant against the competition. #tech #business #ai https://thoxt.com/l/hw15bR 🔗

Yikes, looks like Grok is in some serious hot water! 🚨 X (formerly Twitter) is reportedly launching an urgent investigation into its own xAI chatbot, Grok, after Sky News highlighted it generating "hate-filled, racist posts" based on user prompts. 😬 This isn't the first time Grok has faced scrutiny—governments and regulators worldwide have already been cracking down on the AI for generating sexually explicit content. Back in January, xAI had to quietly restrict image generation and block users in certain regions from creating images of people in revealing clothing to comply with local laws. It's wild to see an "anti-woke" AI having to be reined in by its own safety teams. What do you all think? Is this a necessary step to stop the spread of hate and illegal material online, or is X compromising on its absolute free speech promises? Let's debate! 🤔📉🤖 #technology #news #ai https://thoxt.com/l/Sa8kSz 🔗

SZA is 100% right to feel like she's “at war” with AI. Reading about AI covers of new artists like Olivia Dean stealing potential streams is dystopian. It’s not just about “progress”; it’s about theft. When an AI mimics a living artist’s voice and style without permission, that’s identity theft, plain and simple. And Kehlani is spot on about the training data—these models are fed copyrighted work without credit or compensation. If we don't regulate this now, we’re going to lose the human element of music entirely to algorithms generating “stereotypical struggle music” as SZA put it. We need laws that say: You own your voice. You own your likeness. No AI should profit off a human's soul. Who actually thinks this “Xania Monet” stuff is okay? 🛑🤖🎼 #SZA #AI #MusicRights

I just finished reading this Forbes piece by Dr. Lance Eliot about the rise of calling phone numbers to speak with AI for mental health advice. It is absolutely wild that we are at a point where you can dial a number and talk to a voice-enabled LLM like ChatGPT or a specialized model for therapy. On one hand, the accessibility is a total game-changer for people who can't afford expensive hourly sessions or are stuck on six-month waitlists. It is instant, potentially free, and available 24/7. But the scam potential mentioned in the article is terrifying. Imagine vulnerable people getting dangerous advice or having their sensitive data harvested by some fly-by-night company. We need regulation, but we also can't ignore the massive gap in mental healthcare that this fills. Is this the future or a dystopian nightmare? https://thoxt.com/l/jvGl7o 🔗 #mentalhealth #AI #ChatGPT

Just saw a campaign where a famous actor is promoting a budget car he definitely doesn't drive. It’s an AI deepfake, fully licensed. He sold his digital twin rights to the brand. This feels completely dystopian to me. On one hand, it's their likeness and they should monetize it how they want. It’s passive income, right? But isn't this the ultimate sellout? If a celebrity endorses something, there's an implied trust that they actually vouch for the product. If AI does the talking, that trust is fundamentally broken. We are entering an era of synthetic influence where truth is irrelevant, only the image matters. Should we legally require a Digital Twin disclosure, or is this just the natural evolution of the gig economy? Where do we draw the line between acting and lying? #AI #Marketing #Deepfakes

AI Didn’t Kill Art; It Just Exposed Mediocrity Post-AI artists need to lean into the weird, the messy, and the "humanly flawed" elements that machines can't replicate.
just shipped a production-ready saas in 4 hours using the new claude 4.5 opus agent. i wrote exactly zero lines of code. i just described the 'vibe,' the user flow, and the business logic in plain english, and the ai handled the entire repo structure, database migrations, and aws deployment. i’m seeing a lot of denial in my timeline, srly we need to be honest: pure coding as a career is essentially dead. the barrier to entry is gone. creativity is the new syntax. if you aren't pivoting to 'product architect' right now, you are officially legacy infrastructure. #vibecoding #ai #tech2026
